The hotel's gastronomy is based on the production of the family's vegetable garden "always when it is freshly gathered" and with well selected regional products from the local market and well prepared as any connoisseur will notice. The wines, and how else could it be living in the Penedès area, are extraordinary well chosen more so as the hotel owners are wine specialists.
The second meal ( for supper) is based on some meat chosen from the Girona region or fish from the Tarragona market.
A real menu based on Mediterranean products always cooked in oil coming from Siurana and there you have a balanced and healthy menu.
Gastronomic Months
We have plans (and this will be announced on the web site throughout the year) to organize gatherings to taste the products of the region. This will be possible according to the seats available .
January:
this is the month of dried fruit like the hazelnut and walnuts in Reus.
January and February:
This is the hunting period; wild boars, deer, rabbits, partridges
January, February and March: the months of the specially prepared and consumed onion dish also eaten in omelettes.
March and April : the new wine months to be tasted and specially the wine of the house.
May: Mr. Ramon Banach (oenologist) will invite you to a wine-tasting from his own vineyard.
September and October: these are the months of the fresh vegetables (beans, salads) with their regional home made sauces.
October and November : the months of mushrooms; it is a must to get to know and appreciate them. Also the month of the olive oil (Siurana). Tasting of the very first virgin oils in November.
The hotel is also an ideal place to celebrate New Year's Eve or any other festivity. |
